Women struggles in creating clear career vision

Wed 24.5.2017 8:09 am

A modern life requires to have a clear vision of everything: personal life, career, future and so on. Especially, it is important to have a clear vision when it comes to career. It is noticed, that a majority of women working in technology field have no clear vision of what they want to do with their career while their male co-workers have a clear career plan. That identify the unsecurity of women with their career as many things makes influence to their career: children, aging parents, family and others. For this reason, it is important to help women to identify their wishes and help them to create their career raodmap which would help them to plan the career.

While creating a career plan, it is important to include all aspects of life to make it as detailed as possible. However, many women stuggle with this task as they have to consider many aspects that might make influence to their career plans. To help women, SEOs should pay more attention to female employees and their career roadmaps. They should help them to clarify the main points they want to reach in their career path and discuss ways how to get there.

It is my understanding that women tend to assume supporting roles that make it diificult to have successful careers in a system where the scientific achievements are more important than community support. Nevertheless this effort in community nurturing is crucial for Universities too.
